To me this film was about championing both the bread and the bakers.
On the surface the script was a straight-forward, linear story of an individual’s journey to work. But it’s actually much more than that. It was an opportunity to have three concurrent narratives playing out: the story of the baker’s pride in his work, the context behind it and why Roberts is “back”, and the product featuring at key moments, always looking amazing.
